The Kauai Division of Aquatic Resources (DAR) is currently working with the US Geological Survey to investigate a marine life mortality event of around 500-800 lanternfish and squid near Nawiliwili, Kauai.  The EOR Network is needed to help identify additional observations of large numbers of dead or dying marine life.   Please check your local beach area and make an online report at: www.eorhawaii.org/make-a-report.  If you observe a large number of dead marine life on KAUAI, please call DAR at 808-645-0532.  Please do not collect samples or specimens.

Online reports of beaches free of dead marine life are also valuable – this will help to establish which areas are being affected and which are not.
